The Grinding Media Balls of the ball mill, as the implementation of the crushing behavior, determines the quality of the grinding product

Ore is an aggregate composed of a variety of minerals. The difference in the binding force between mineral crystals and crystals determines the inhomogeneity of the ore properties. According to the determination of the National Bureau of Mines, the binding force on the crystal plane is only the binding force within the crystal. The binding force on the interface of different mineral crystals is weaker than that on the crystal surface of the same mineral. Due to the inhomogeneity of the ore properties, it also determines the different fragmentation methods of the ore when it is subjected to external forces.
From the point of view of modern crushing mechanics, the crushing of ore occurs when its own energy density reaches the limit, and the crushing method of ore is also related to the size of the crushing energy, that is, the crushing force of the steel ball on the ore is not as large as possible. Instead, the fragmentation should be dissociated along the crystal interface between the minerals under the action of the crushing force, so as to achieve the main purpose of grinding. If the size of the steel ball is too large, the crushing force will be large, and the ore particles will fracture in the direction of higher energy, rather than along the grain interface between the minerals, and the crushing behavior is not selective.
At the same time, excessive crushing force is also easy to cause excessive crushing of minerals, resulting in a reduction in the recovery rate of beneficiation. This kind of crushing method is obviously not required for ore grinding in beneficiation; if the size of the steel ball is too small and the crushing force is insufficient, the crushing behavior cannot occur, and the applied crushing energy will disappear in the elastic recovery of the ore. Only in the impact force Under the repeated action of the ore, the crushing behavior may occur when the ore reaches the fatigue limit. This kind of crushing method will inevitably lead to poor grinding effect and large energy consumption; only when the crushing force is moderate, the crushing behavior will follow the weak binding force of minerals. Occurs between crystal interfaces to achieve effective separation between minerals. This grinding product is exactly what is required for beneficiation, and the moderate crushing force is determined by the accuracy of the steel ball size. In a word, steel balls affect the quality of grinding products.
