Grinding technology efficiency of mill and its influencing factors

Mar 28, 2024

The grinding technical efficiency of a ball mill refers to the ratio between the content of the qualified particle size in the product obtained after grinding and the original content of the feed species that is greater than the qualified particle size. It is two completely different concepts from the grinding efficiency of the ball mill. Grinding efficiency refers to the productivity of the grinding machine, which is evaluated from the energy consumption, while the technical efficiency of grinding is mainly reflected in the quality of the grinding product to evaluate the grinding efficiency.
The impact on the efficiency of grinding technology mainly reflects three aspects: the nature of the ore, equipment factors and operating factors. The following is the analysis results of the Red Star Mining Machinery on these influencing factors.
1. The nature of the ore has a great influence on the efficiency of grinding technology, because when grinding, the mineral particle size is coarse and the structure is loose, brittle and soft. It is easy to grind, but when the useful mineral particle size in the ore becomes finer and the structure is dense and hard, it is easier to grind. When the grinding time is high, it is more difficult to grind, so the production of qualified particle size is correspondingly slower.
2. Equipment factors will also have a certain impact on the technical efficiency of ball mill grinding. For example, the overflow ball mill has a relatively slow ore discharge speed, is not easy to discharge large-density ore particles, and is prone to over-crushing. There are also When the grinding machine forms a closed-circuit classification, if the classification efficiency is low, over-crushing will also occur, which will reduce the efficiency of the grinding technology.
3. The impact of operating factors on the grinding technology efficiency of the grinding machine. For example, in closed-circuit grinding, when the return sand ratio is too large or too small, and exceeds the normal throughput of the grinding machine, it will occur in the grinding product. The phenomenon of "coarseness" or over-crushing; or when the grinding load is too large or insufficient, the phenomenon of "coarseness" or over-crushing will be aggravated. These problems caused by uneven and stable ore feeding can affect the efficiency of grinding technology.
